Instrument Rating – Single Engine Piston

With a SEP IR or Instrument Rating, you can fly in VMC (visual flight conditions) and IMC (instrument flight conditions) with an aircraft that is equipped with one piston engine ( single engine piston engine ).
We guide you in studying the theoretical subjects. We do this with a clearly defined step-by-step plan , and we can organize this on a personal level or in groups .
We train you specifically on what is typical about the SEP instrument flying, and what is practically required in an FAA exam .
The entire training meets all FAA (PTS) requirements and standards .
In addition to the American, the European (EASA) regulations are also taught at the same time, because our practical lessons are largely flown in European airspace.
All lessons are tailored to your time frame.
In consultation with you, we always look for the most budget-optimal training formula.

FLIGHT REVIEW SEP-IR

(Biennial) Flight Review – Single Engine Piston

All FAA license holders must complete a (Biennial) Flight Review not later than every 2 years . Such a review consists of one hour of theory and one hour practical, with a CFI ( Certified Flight Instructor ).
The Flight Review usually takes place in a single-engine aircraft (SEP). (* see Flight Review ME-IR)
There is no “Fail” or “Pass”. In consultation with you, we look at which subjects require some extra training. Those matters are then highlighted and retrained.
After the Flight Review, the CFI will put an endorsement in the pilot’s logbook, after which your privileges will be valid for the next 24 months .

FLIGHT REVIEW MEP-IR

(Biennial) Flight Review – Multi-Engine Piston

All FAA license holders must complete a (Biennial) Flight Review not later than every 2 years . Such a review consists of one hour of theory and one hour practical, with a CFI ( Certified Flight Instructor ).
Do you also have an ME rating ? (twin-engine) Then you do not necessarily have to do your Flight Review on a twin-engine aircraft . A Flight Review can be taken on any type of aircraft(fixed-wing) for which you have a valid rating (authorization). The Flight Review will therefore automatically apply to all other ratings .

IPC

Instrument Proficiency Check

Renewal of your privileges as an instrument pilot

For an IPC procedure , the FAA requires a ground instruction and 2 to 3 hours of practical training on a approved simulator or a real aircraft.
The final duration of the training depends on your level at the time of the check.
All topics of instrument flying are covered, as described in the PTS (Practical Test Standards).
Have you actually not flown IFR for a long time? Then we offer you a 3 day “Refresher Course for Recurrency“. Click the button below and ask us for more information.
We also recommend that anyone who still falls within the statutory period, but still flies little to moderate time IFR , to continue practicing on a regular basis . We can also offer you suitable training packages for this, tailored to your personal budget .

FLIGHT REVIEW – ENDORSEMENT – TYPERATING

(Biennial) Flight Reviews are mandatory for everyone: PPL, CPL and ATPL

Do you have a valid FAA license ? Then the FAA obliges you to do a Flight Review the latest every 24 months .
After completing the Flight Review, you will receive an endorsement from the CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) in your Pilot logbook, and you can fly with your license for another 24 months until the next Flight Review.
The FAA does not distinguish between PPL, CPL or ATPL licenses: everyone has to take a Flight Review every 2 years.
Taking the Flight Review is allowed on smaller aircraft , and therefore not necessarily on larger or more complex aircraft such as turboprops and jets. But if you own such a complex aircraft, a Flight Review could of course also be taken on that aircraft.

Endorsements

To be allowed to fly with your FAA license on aircraft equipped with, for example: a retractable landing gear and variable pitch (“ complex ”), an engine with more than 200 hp (“ high performance ”), or an air pressure cabin for higher cruising heights (“ high altitude ”), you need an endorsement.

A Flight Review is not a Type Rating

A Flight Review is not the same as a Type Rating
A Type Rating is required to fly on turboprop aircraft weighing over 12,500 lbs (pounds). Such a Type Rating is unique for every type of aircraft and can only be given by the specifically authorized training facilities.
Jet aircraft, always require a Type Rating, regardless the weight of the aircraft.
